While Christmas shopping in the cooking section of the bookstore, I came across this book, I'd forgotten all about this! It takes ages for a book to get published and on the shelves. I remember the biggest challenge on this shoot was not keeping the chef/author looking good, but the FOOD! It was really hot and the food kept wilting. "new salad on set"...

Well, its been ages since I've posted anything, and while I've been doing heaps, I don't have a lot of images to share, as sometimes it takes a while for stuff to be published. However, I'm pretty excited about the new Jeans West campaign that I worked on, with Samantha Harris, fresh from appearing on the cover of Vogue Magazine. She was an absolute delight to work with, and I had a fantastic time on the shoot. What an epic day of shooting this was!! With temperatures down to 4 degrees (apparently the lowest in QLD that day) at Maleny, it was a perfect setting for a winter shoot. Rain, Mist, Fog, Cow Poops, we dodged it all...

I recently worked on a series of TV Commercials for SunSuper. They all featured real people, not actors, which was a lot of fun. I always enjoy working with people who aren't used to having their makeup done, sometimes the men feel a little concerned, until they look in the mirror and realise they still look like themselves!

To me, this will always be remembered as the "mosquito shoot". We were literally mobbed by the critters all afternoon... Shooting in a damp forested park didn't help. As a "responsible makeup artist" I did have mozzie repellent in my kit, but next time I think I need to pack the "super strength" version. Regular Aerogard let us down. :-( Fortunately, not too many visible welts on the models.

I recently drove down to Coffs Harbour to work on the South Sydney Rabbitohs (that's rugby league for the non-sports minded!) TV commercial. It was a fun road trip, but the driving was killer!! I assisted Tiffany Beckwith-Skinner on this project.

I recently worked with Maske String Trio on their promotional shoot for 2009. These three lovely ladies play electric violins & cello, playing the classics with a modern, sexy twist. They perform regularly overseas, but are not very well known in Australia. All that is about to change, after their appearance last night on "Australia's Got Talent". They made it through their heat and are into the semi-finals...
